A terra ("Earth in Portuguese) is a public art project created by artist Martynka Вавжиняк in collaboration with the Greenpoint, community. The project takes the form of a ceramic orb sobre a meadow in McGolrick Park, which will be ísis in Junho de 2018. The orb não glazed with a mixture of clay excavated in Greenpoint and solos from around the world contributed by residents. The artist spent two years reaching out to fellow Greenpointers to invite them to recolhimento from soil locations symbolically representative of their identidade. This film is an abbreviated version of a film which documents Вавжиняк s journey to Poland em Agosto de 2017 to collect soil por ele, a fim of Portuguese seniors and undocumented immigrants who were unable to personally collect the soil mesmos. This film and the fabricação of the ceramic orb were made possible by the generoso support of The Portuguese Cultural Institute in New York.
