Tokal is a modern story about family values. A traditional Kazakh family seems to live in compliance with older values, but their illusory happiness can not last long. Bota, the main character of the film, devotes herself to social work, slowly but loses connection with her husband and daughters. Kairat, Bota's husband, seeks happiness instead through an affair with the pretty Kamilla, and opts out of understanding where he stands with both women, de deixar as coisas unfold as they may.
