Fajar Merah (21 anos) é o filho de Wiji Thukul – um poeta e ativista de direitos humanos que foi 'feita para desaparecido", em 1998, pelo Regime de Suharto. Junto com o "Merah Bercerita', uma banda estabelecida em 2010, e apoiada por sua família, ele tenta trazer de volta seu pai poemas de vida, cobre-os com as anotações musicais e cria um álbum de música. Em uma dinâmica de fundo da Eleição Presidencial de 2014, 16 anos após a 1998 tragédia, Fajar e família desenvolve uma nova esperança em um candidato; Joko Widodo, para resolver alguns casos de Violação de Direitos Humanos, para encontrar Wiji Thukul e outras vítimas.
