In 2016, June (Allison Tolman) and Edward (Ray Santiago) are having a disagreement about David Bowie's death and its effect on their relationship when he suddenly disappears in a flash of light. Twenty-four years later in the year 2040, June lives alone next door to friend Samuel (Jeff Perry), still mourning the loss of Edward.
