Barroso uses various tools to tell the story, contrasting images from the offices of the authorities' responsible for investigating the murder with interviews with family members, testimonies from residents of Alagoa Grande, and the public commotion surrounding the event. We are invited to stare unflinchingly into a harsh reality of violence and impunity, but also of fortitude and bravery of the people in the face of injustice.
