A story about an actor whose glory days are behind him. Konstanty Kurczek works as a prompter in a theater, and his only passion is Napoleon. Over time, his life seems to be getting better and better - he marries Ludwika, an extra, and they have a child, but one day he catches his wife in flagrante with Grywicz, and his whole world falls apart.
