A dozen variety artists, under the leadership of the administrator Jean Duroc, ensure a provincial tour whose receipts are not brilliant. During a boating game, fortune teller Monique Darzel and songwriter Pierjan discover an angler who looks like Fernand Raynaud. Duroc, to whom they tell their discovery, has a brilliant idea. However, in Paris, Fernand Raynaud's impresario receives a visit from an Italian producer eager to offer a commitment to the great comic. Fernand Raynaud is on vacation and he asked to be left in peace. The producer insists - The impresario finally gives in and asks the telephone operator to call the star - "You will ask for Mr. Gaspard ..." - The double is none other than Fernand Raynaud himself.
