Christa and Theo Zerrback have been running a small kiosk in the Ruhr area for many years - with moderate success. Although Theo often argues with Christa, he is extremely popular in the neighborhood. Not least because he gives his buddies generous credit. Shortly after betting the kiosk's earnings on a horse race, Theo dies unexpectedly of a heart attack.
