The beautiful gypsy Marina, who has never known her father, decides to leave her mother and the gypsy camp and go to live in the city. With Katerina's help, she finds a job in a shop where she meets and falls in love with Petros, heir to the wealthy Alexandros Kanaris. The two lovers plan to marry, but Petros' father, who is naturally opposed to such a marriage, learns of Marina's origins.
