The film, based on the script of the St. Petersburg writer Anatoly Agrafenin, is dedicated to the newspaper journalists of the besieged Leningrad. Newspapers brought people information about the situation on the fronts, about how the fighting Leningrad lives, instilled confidence in the imminent victory over the enemy. It is no coincidence that the newspaper word in those days was equated with bread.
