The Red Cross sells stamps to Danish citizens on Red Cross Day, and the purpose of the film is to tell why no one is allowed to say no. The Red Cross also runs a folk health center at Hald, where the regular population, for a small fee, are treated for diseases that require careful medical care. In addition, the Red Cross also helps to take care of the Allied refugees, just as they attend large numbers of large-scale events where Samaritans are needed. In bombed-out Poland, there is a strong need for the Red Cross, which responds by sending car convoys, ships and planes away to help.
