After the Taipei Factory in 2013 and the Nordic Factory in 2014, the Directors' Fortnight and Cineam Chile join to continue the adventure this coming year with the Chile Factory. Chile Factory aims at the emergence of new talents on the international scene, allowing young filmmakers, Chileans and international, to meet and create together. Fortnight is proud to present the result of these discussions, four short films of 15 minutes each, co-directed by four tandems young directors. THE PLAIN OF PATIENCE (Ignacio Rodriguez, Sara Rastegar) Two old friends meet after 40 years to unearth a treasure they had buried in the desert. MAREA DE TIERRA (Manuela Martelli, Amirah Tajdin) Laura, a heartbroken teenager from Santiago is on holiday in the southern Chilean archipelago of Chiloe with friends. As she wanders the lonely island seascapes she encounters a group of local seaweed collector women, with whom she shares places and stories. LA DISCOTHEQUE (Teresita Ugarte, Ofir Raul Graizer) An old man spends a night in a Strip Club in downtown Santiago. Through his encounter with music, bodies and alcohol, his true nature will be revealed. NECESSITO SABER A film by Matias Rojas Valencia, Mariko Saga) Maria, a doctor from Santiago serves in a rural hospital in Southern Chile. When 12 years-old Paola visits the hospital, Maria finds out about her terrible secret. Suspecting a family drama, Maria decides to follow the girl to her home.
