Angelina Ortiz, "an honest girl who knows nothing," is the daughter of a brigadeiro as pompous as ridiculous, ironically chamado don Marcial. On the day of her hand request, Angelina runs away with another man. Their father and Rodolfo, the abandoned boyfriend, chase them.
